Hey it's time for this summer's feelgood chill music, sit back and relax and enjoy "Acoustic Funerals on the Moon"
download.
Some might prefer this version as it isn't metal anymore, but still, it sounds weird, plus I didn't put much effort in trying to get the riffs right. Probably not worth it anyways?...

Updates
What's up? well, I guess I've been talking only about music for a while. Next week-end I'll hop in a train to visit my family in the south of France, my cousin Rémi is getting married! That's good news, isn't it? It will be a time of family reunion, which doesn't happen often and to see some long-time-no-see friends. My cousin and I used to share the same friends as we are the same age, we grew up living almost in the same house (we own some kind of double house), we've been in the same classes at school, middle school, even high school for a bit. So of course we used to share the same friends circle. Then I've left for Paris, Finland, the USA and back to Paris, so it's been years without talking really.
Talking about Finland, I'll hop in a plane with Carole just after the wedding. Destination: Helsinki of course! It was Carole's x-mas gift that was canceled last minute in February because the flight carrier couldn't fly us in. That sucked but the company did reimburse the tickets + a comfy we're-sorry-here-is-800-euros package. So this time I was able to book better tickets, a longer stay and hopefully a better weather.
Alright enough blabbering about my life, I have some song tabbing to do while I still have some free time.
Cheers!

Challenger Deep
It's the name of the deepest measured abyss. Challenger Deep, is also a future Acolyts song. I've been writing the music as a bass line based song, it's written to be heavy, slow, doomy, totally gloomy. The lyrics aren't finished yet so I keep randomly saying the same stuff, but it basically talks about guy being trapped in a metal tank dropped into the ocean. He's sent to a one way trip to the ultimate/unfathomable darkness.

The Mule : Returns
Those who already followed this unregular blog in early 2009 (very early, January 2nd to be precise) might remember The Mule a song I wrote back then. Well it's back as a The Acolyts song, I've been working on it for quite a while and it completely changed, now it's heavy, thrashy, speedy and catchy ( yey a true chorus! ). For those who said I sold out because I post crap about work, well this really ain't. I think it's already a quite solid metal piece, although It could use a more proper intro/outro, maybe a couple of riffs... who knows. Anyway, I felt like sharing the song so you guys can tell me if it's a dig or ditch. Keep in mind it's not a 100% complete ;)
Oh by the way, I have worked a lot into having a better guitar sound/mix and a little "scoop", the band has a new drummer :) I'll talk about this more another time.
Here's the song
download.
EDIT : The Song has been released on Reverbnation, Myspace and Facebook with an all new (and strong) ending :)
Enjoy!

Quality crap
Some of you guys asked if I could transfer some songs in better quality than streaming, of course I can! I cannot export in FLAC using Garage Band so here is the best quality available for now: AAC 44.1khz 360kbpm stereo.
I though about some extra so voilà:
Two songs I had not published yet on this blog:
One-eyed crone, based on a story and lyrics written by Quentin (Acolyt #2) inspired by a twisted dream he had where if he closed his eyes and went to sleep, death would take him... scary! Musically it's probably the most melodic piece I've written maybe a little too much ;)
Insanity Darkness Metal: I wanted an introduction to our future EP that would be kind of like an essay intro. The song introduces all the themes that will be developed in the other songs. In my opinion this song is the most violent I've done, very efficient. Quentin wrote the lyrics based on the specs I gave him :)
One old song remastered!
A strange library for Dr. Brisby, good old Brisby started to sound a bit dusty compared to what happened after. This song is very dear to me because it's where I think I carved what is The Acolyts sound. However the song started to sound weak so I've redone all the voice tracks, remixed the instruments and even cut a tiny piece of it, you'll probably won't notice it, but it's 20 seconds shorter because one riff is played one time less. Result? better in my opinion!!

Two songs in top quality:
Funerals on the moon, the epic futuristic doom tale and Castle Bravo, the apocalyptic doom/thrash metal piece!!
I hope you guys enjoy all these song as much as I do, and please please don't hesitate to comment, give me your opinions :D
